New year - new goals

Well the new year is here and it is time to put my goals out there. It’s sort of odd doing this every year, I’ve never been one to set goals for each year, but for the past few years I have been. So here we go!

One hundred thousand words of creative writing this year: this goal has been flat for the past few years. I’d up it, but Real Life is always crazy. If I get my second goal done I’ll up it.

I want to do a Nano type thing. Fifty K in 30 days - starting today. We’ll see about this, I hope I don’t lose focus in the middle. The story is something I’ve had in my head for a few years now. It involves Unitarians, Vampires and the old song Tam Lin. I may not have the skill to make it work, but I need to at least try.

Make a point of posting on my l/j. Also posting blog, twitter and facebook (the ones under my proper name), and doing PR stuff.

Start reviewing the books I read (I have 15 books on my ‘already read, still needs review’ pile)

I want to lose 10 pounds and do my PT exercises every other day (I’m shooting a little low there)

Last one is the hardest:

I want to try to keep my life in some sort of balance, not all work.

Wish me luck! And have a stellar new year!

Good luck with all of your resolutions--a worthy bunch indeed.

However, I don't think you meant, One hundred words of creative writing this year.

Me? Haven't given it a thought but I'm going to give it a shot right here.
1. Get everything unpacked from the move before it's the anniversary of it. (Seven weeks left.)
2. Somehow either choose the best ending for "the behemoth" manuscript (and write it), or else hold a writer hostage until -they- come up with a resolution.

Re: Luck!
No I meant 100,000 silly me.

I can't be any help with the unpacking (I still have stuff packed from the last move) but maybe talking to other writers will help with the ending?

OK I'll get it for you when I get home from work - I know if I didn't at least respond it would slip my mind again.

Maple custard

2 1/4 cup maple syrup
3/4 cup light cream
1/4 cup of flour
4 eggs

whisk all together in a bowl until blended. Bake at 375 for 10 min. Reduce heat and bake for 30 - 35 min.

this is suposed to make a 9 inch pie, but I make it in custard cups and it makes about 80 fuid oz of custard

Tarte Au Sucre Jaune
1 cup brown sugar
4 Tablespoon cream
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon butter

mix. bake at 400 degrees for 30 min

This is suposed to make a pie as well - but my father's mom made it as a fudge. It is an Acadian recipe - so eat it with much beer.
