Looks Like 3 good things to me too!
Don't know from the book title or the other book author. Just glad you're enjoying them.

Ooh! So very cool about shape shifter dream! Do you dream good stuff often? Bit of advice either way -- try to write out first impressions immediately. You lose some of the "magic" if you wait a bit.

I'm glad that the mac and cheese is a good thing.

Keep in mind that I love M&C, now. I'd make it regularly but worry about cholestoral.

Xanthrope & my editor mentioned recently making m&c in connection with holidays -- X re Christmas and DW re Thanksgiving. I have never heard of this until this year!
To me, M&C is kind of a Friday, thank God the week is over thingie. Am I missing a whole East Coast cultural phenom?

Re: Looks Like 3 good things to me too!
Bones of the moon is a book published by Orb in the late 80's early 90's when modern Urban Fantasy was young, but I never got around to reading it until now. The Jim Butcher book is book 4 or the Dresdan Files it is called Summer Kinght. Becasue I like Modern Urban Fantasy and because the subgenra has become (in effect) romance, I've been reading Butcher. His stories are PI stories. It's a nice change.

We (this would be my cousin and I) make M+C for new years. For luck.

Re: Looks Like 3 good things to me too!
Oh, the Dresden Files! I see the covers "go by" sometimes when I'm searching stuff on Amazon. Positively -love- the covers!!!
A couple of days ago, someone on an SF list I'm on said all sorts of good things about the series. He also cautioned about reading them in order. That kind of put me off, 'cause I'm such a slow read and so far behind in reading anyway. But they definitely sound good.
A shouldn't recommend it when all I've done was buy it but have you ever read "Last Call"? I hear it's great urban fantasy.

Er, not to spoil your luck but you do know the new year hasn't started yet, right? Oopsie! Now, you're going to go & have to make more M&C in a few days. Oh, the cheese-anity!

I'm reading the fourth book now. I love them. They are the perfict balence to all the romance out there. Yeah they need to be read in order - I can loan you the first one if you want.

I don't know if I've read Last Call or not - I'm terable with titles.

LOL!

Re: Looks Like 3 good things to me too!
I'll keep your offer in mind. However, I have TONS of books by favorite authors I should be catching up on first.

Including reading Last Call myself! I don't know if I made it clear before, but I own it and have yet to read it. (It was published in 1992. I am obviously insane.)
I just scanned the back cover and have put it below. Since I know a TAD more about the book than this info, I can safely say do NOT read any more descriptions if you want to be surprised. ;-)

"A DIZZYING, STIMULATING MAGNUM OPUS."
--- USA Today

The brilliant, acclaimed, and award-winning masterwork of chance and destiny from Tim Powers.

LAST CALL

One-time professional gambler Scott Crane hasn't returned to Las Vegas, or held a hand of cards, in ten years. But troubling nightmares about a strange poker game he once attended on a houseboat on Lake Mead -
a contest he believed he walked away from a big winner - are drawing him back to the magical city. Because the mythic game did not end that night in 1969. And the price of his winnings was his soul. And now a pot far more strange and perilous than he ever could imagine depends on the turning of a card.

"Surprising ... harrowing ... An arresting novel with credible characters and a complex bacl<ground that the reader can unpack with pleasure." --- Washington Post Book World "A novel of the supernatural and occult that is as hard-boiled, seamy, and suspenseful as the best film noir." --- Tom Robbins
