Meme and an x-mass memorey

from ani_bester

1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you which song or movie you remind me of.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to eat with you.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. (if possible. If not, I'll say something that only makes sense to me.)
5. I'll tell you my first most prominent memory of you .
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wondered about you.
8. I'll tell you my favorite thing about you.
9. I'll tell you my least favorite thing about you (if I can think of something, honestly on LJ, it's hard for me to dislike someone)
10. If you play, you should really post this on yours

ok - this is going to sound wierd.  And maybe a little sad - but I don't see it that way.  My strongest memory of an early x-mass (it must have been between 1974 and 1976) is of my dad and I standing outside a tree lot waiting for them to get rid of the trees that hadn't sold.  Back then you could get a christmas tree on teh 24th for free.  So after church we would go find a tree and then decorate it.  To this day it still feels wrong to have a tree before the 24th (even though I have a fake tree and so I could have it up as long as I would want).  Trees arn't free on Christmass eve anymore - that makes me very very sad.

Oh, thanx i didn't know about that side of badgers :)

Oh, Peter - one of well-known politicians here. He was cruel but modern thinking person. His city (Saint Petersburgh usually known here as Peter)) is farther from me - about in 2 times farther but it's beautiful city.

I think Prussha was part Germany, part Poland and part - well a whole bunch of places...LOL.

It seems like things were a lot more fluid back then. Or maybe things are just as fluid now but becasue we are looking at it on a day to day basis they look more stitic.

I mean, I was born in 1970 and a globe looks TOTALY different now then it did when I was in school.

Yeah, i know - Prussia was a big part of Germany (modern i mean) and i'm not sure about Poland but you study it so i think you're right. Poland if i remember it right was devided on halves - part in Germany and part in Russia. Something like that.

Oh, i know what you mean about the globe :) It looks totally different now - it's interesting to observe (if it happens w/o wars).

Oh, that part we couldn't be able to see on line - there was no internet here that time. And at that time we thought about it as tragedy (propaganda, you know).

I don't know about germans - it seemed they accept it very well. But it was hard for us as their 'friends in politics' cos we felt betrayed.

Oh, yes, now i remember it too - eastern part of Germany suffered from unity cos western part ignore workers from eastern part... maybe there are still some difficulties...

Yeah I think it was harder for the East then the west.

My boss is German - he's been here since he was about 10 or 15 just after WW2. It was the first time he got to see his family after comming here. So that was cool.
